Fire Sprinkler Design (NFPA 13)
Pythian Design provides complete automatic fire sprinkler system design in accordance with NFPA 13. Our services include hazard classification, density/area determination, hydraulic calculations, water supply coordination, and submittal package preparation. We deliver code-compliant designs with fast turnaround to keep your project on schedule.
NFPA 13 Design Process
Hazard Classification: Determine occupancy hazard (Light Hazard, Ordinary Hazard Groups 1 & 2, Extra Hazard, or Special) based on building use and contents.
System Type Selection: Select appropriate system type (wet pipe, dry pipe, preaction, or deluge) based on building conditions and hazard.
Density and Area Requirements: Apply NFPA 13 density/area curves to determine required sprinkler discharge density and design area.
Sprinkler Selection and Spacing: Select sprinkler type (standard response, quick response, ESFR, etc.) and determine maximum spacing per NFPA 13.
Hydraulic Calculations: Calculate required water supply (flow and pressure) using hydraulic calculation methods per NFPA 13.
Water Supply Verification: Coordinate with available water supply to ensure adequate flow and pressure, or design fire pump if needed.
